Sheikha joined as OCEC's Business Development Manager - International Conferences in 2014 and was part of the small but strong pre-opening team. She brought with her a strong set of skills gained at every opportunity she has worked on, including three international chain hotels. She has a demonstrated history of excellent work ethics combined with professional expertise in business planning, operations management, coaching among many others. A strong sales professional with a master’s degree focused in Tourism and Travel Services Management from IMC Fachhochschule Krems, Sheikha now leads the convention department overseeing bidding processes for prestigious international and regional congresses and has secured in bringing world-class business events to Oman and to the OCEC.
FUAD AL BALUSHI
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - EXHIBITIONS & LIVE EVENTS
Fouad’s 15 years of experience make him a trusted administrator and skill bank in the field of tourism including integrated tourism complexes, airlines, live events among many others. Today, Fouad leads OCEC's Exhibition and Live Events Department, which includes three main areas: Business Development, in-house exhibitions and live events. Fouad has been a high-contributing part of prestigious international and regional exhibitions and events and has worked tirelessly to bring world-class business events to Oman and to OCEC. Fouad knows that achieving ultimate success and leaving a unique mark in the area of sales, event planning, marketing, and branding will be no simple undertaking, but makes passion, determination and his skills his tools to reach his goals.
TALAL AL HABSI
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - CORPORATE & GOVERNMENT EVENTS
Talal has over 12 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with core specialty in events and conferences. A highly accomplished professional with a striking career ladder, his qualifications include an MBA from the University of De Montfort in Leicester, UK, followed by an apprenticeship within conferences and banquets at the Marriott Hotel in the same city. An Omani national, he brings a solid understanding of the events industry within the sultanate, having previously worked at the luxury Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort, the Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel as well as the InterContinental Muscat. Over the years, he has directly overseen events with top clients such as BBC’s Top Gear, The Ferrero Group, and Lamborghini Motors in addition to numerous high-profile government events. His believes in high quality deliverance, strategizing and taking ownership of an event's success.
MANAL AL KIYUMI
MARKETING & COMMUNICATION MANAGER
Manal Al Kiyumi is the Marketing & Communications Manager for Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre since joining the company in December 2018. In this capacity, Al Kiyumi’s responsibilities include strategy development and execution as well as corporate branding, digital media and media relations. Prior to joining OCEC, Al Kiyumi held the position of Head of Communications with ASYAD Group – Oman’s flagship logistics group – where she was responsible for the execution of the company’s integrated marketing plan, incorporating campaign development and corporate branding. She comes with more than eight years of experience across a range of communication disciplines, including internal communications, public relations, corporate social responsibility and journalism. Al Kiyumi holds a Bachelor’s of Communications and Information Studies in Journalism from the American University of Dubai, as well as a Certificate in Middle Eastern Studies.
