OCEC COLLABORATES WITH CLOUD KITCHENS FOR GAME-CHANGING EVOLUTION IN MUSCAT

 With the latest collaboration with leading food-technology firm KitchenomiKs, the Oman Convention & Exhibition Center (OCEC) is leveraging its state-of-the-art commercial kitchens to expand the range of culinary choice offered at the venue and bring about a game-changing evolution in Muscat and Oman’s Food & Beverage landscape.    

As an avant-garde concept in the Food & Beverage (F&B) sector, cloud kitchens integrate established commercial kitchens with advanced technology to deliver exceptional food delivery experience, by bringing together great food concepts, streamlined ordering, industry leading food hygiene and quality control in food preparation, easy payment solutions as well as fast delivery processes, among other benefits.

Due to their commercial viability and inherent scalability, cloud kitchens typically cater to restaurant brands serving off-premises or at-home diners. For greater convenience, the cloud kitchen receives orders via a dedicated website platform, app, telephonic or via third-party food delivery services.

At OCEC, the cloud kitchen concepts by KitchenomiKs makes use of the world-class venue’s over 3,000-square-meter, state-of-the-art food processing and preparation facility. This largest-of-its-kind cloud kitchen in Oman maximizes the kitchen’s capability to provide high quality, professionally prepared and great tasting international dishes to diners across Oman’s capital, including those with specific cultural or lifestyle orientated dietary requirements.

The KitchenomiKs cloud kitchen will operate as a Multi-brand Cloud Kitchen (where multiple restaurant concepts operate under KiKs as the parent brand) as well as an Outsourced Cloud Kitchen (where an external restaurant brand’s food is prepared to exacting taste, quality and standards and delivered through the cloud kitchen’s delivery platform). Cloud kitchens provide restauranters the opportunity to develop experimental dishes via proof-of-concept testing in the Oman F&B sector.

Aankush Bhatia, Founder & CEO of Kitchenomiks reiterated the company’s commitment to match varied culinary expectations of both local residents and visitors to OCEC and Muscat. “Our cloud kitchen model is built on the back of a scalabale technology platform that focuses on serving food cravings with quality, customizable and economic options. By leveraging the infrastructure provided by OCEC, KitechnomiKs will deliver multiple cuisines to thousands of visitors at OCEC events as well as the large food-loving community of the beautiful city of Muscat.” The KitchenomiKs cloud kitchens will deploy a tech-driven HACCP standards and are working towards the ISO 22000 certification in Food Safety Management System (FSMS).

In addition, the cloud kitchen paves the way for OCEC to support Muscat’s growing on-demand food delivery market. The venue is supporting the cloud kitchen operations by providing dedicated access and designated parking spaces for third-party delivery drivers to ensure ease of ingress and egress at the venue, ensuring minimum collection time and faster delivery. 

he OCEC kitchen facility will also serve as a commissary kitchen to supply KitchenomiKs’ satellite kitchens and other F&B partners across Muscat city. The cloud Kitchen operator will be developing a signature line-up of dishes exclusively for OCEC to offer a diverse gastronomic experience for events at the venue. This collaboration also enables OCEC to specifically cater to larger private/ public sector enterprises seeking new and healthy catering options for their employee workforce. 

This collaboration with KitchenomiKs by Oman’s premier events destination, the OCEC, reflects one of the venue’s core values – “Innovation”. It includes the 5 Star JW Marriott Muscat Hotel linked to the Convention Centre itself, as well as the 4 Star Crowne Plaza OCEC Hotel.
