OCEC ATTENDS 2021 UFI GLOBAL CONGRESS – AND GETS SET TO HOST UFI 2022 IN OMAN

News

OCEC, Rotterdam, the Netherlands 07 November 2021

From 3 – 6 November in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC) will attend the 2021 UFI Global Congress – considered the largest global meeting of the year and “must-attend” gathering for the international exhibitions industry.

Very significantly for OCEC, this year’s event will also facilitate the handing over of the 2022 UFI Global Congress hosting to the Sultanate of Oman – who have been confirmed as the host nation for this landmark event for the very first time.

The OCEC’s success in securing the 2022 UFI Global Congress represents another significant milestone and highlight in Oman’s premier event and conferencing venue’s history.

OCEC has been a member of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) since 2015. As one of this year’s congress sponsors, and via the OCEC exhibition booth at the event, representatives from the OCEC will be present to receive the official 2022 UFI Global Congress handover for the Sultanate of Oman.

Oman’s hosting of the 2022 UFI Global Congress reflects the Sultanate’s capability to again welcome and accommodate world-class international events, as well as the world’s events-tourism sector following the global outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, and subsequent recovery plan successfully rolled out by the Omani government.

According to Said Al Shanfari, CEO – OCEC, “The 2021 UFI Global Congress is another opportunity for Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre to represent Oman, and to showcase our world-class exhibition facilities and infrastructure on the international stage – this time in Rotterdam, in The Netherlands. Furthermore, the UFI’s selection of OCEC to host the next UFI Global Congress in 2022 is a clear indication that Oman’s premier events venue is a global contender in the international exhibitions industry. We are extremely proud to have this opportunity, and I can confidently say that the OCEC, as well as the Sultanate of Oman – as a world-class events-tourism destination – will not disappoint.”

For the OCEC’s representatives, this November’s 2021 UFI Global Congress will be an opportunity to share knowledge and expertise, and establish relationships with a large number of exhibition industry leaders from around the world.

The UFI Global Congress is considered the largest global meeting of its kind for the international exhibitions industry. The event brings together over 800 industry professionals under one roof – including exhibition organizers, venue management and staff, event service providers, and many other exhibition professionals.
