AV Technician -Rigging

Position Purpose:
Responsible for installation and operations of all aspects related to rigging in the Audio-visual production department. ensuring the safe execution of rigging operations for a diverse range of events and exhibitions.in addition to a general knowledge of event lighting.
Education:

• Appropriate Technical Event Studies Certification or Qualified via experience

Experience & Skills:

• 5 years of experience as an AV technician - Rigging
• Must have hands on experience of installations for the technical aspects of conferences and events
• Set up and operate Rigging equipment for various events, including concerts, conferences, exhibitions, and live performances.
• Safely install, assemble, and dismantle rigging systems, trusses, scaffolding, and other structures required for events, exhibitions, and conventions.
• Equipment Handling: Handle and operate rigging equipment such as chain hoists, slings, ropes, pulleys, and winches to lift and position heavy objects and equipment according to specifications.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations related to rigging operations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), rigging techniques, and equipment inspection procedures.
• General knowledge of automation systems, hoists controllers such as Kinesys systems and load cells.
• An ability to read and interpret drawings, layouts and schematics.
• Working knowledge of the following Microsoft Computer packages:-
• Word
• Excel
• PowerPoint
• Outlook .

Specific Responsibilities’ Standards:

• Capable of taking the technical lead as required on events on a day to day event basis
• Attend team meetings as required to develop event design, resourcing and the event Programme .
• Ensure all duties and areas of responsibility are delivered to clients expectations as a minimum via best practice and in line with the AV departments Quality Management System.
• Assist in the scheduled maintenance of event equipment as required
• Prompt reporting of any damage to or defects of event equipment to the appropriate parties.
• Assist with the production of company and departmental reports as required.
• Assist colleague as required by sharing specialist knowledge
