Marketing and Branding Manager

Position Purpose:
The role of the Marketing & Communication Manager entails the leadership and supervision of all marketing and communication endeavors aimed at establishing the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre as the foremost choice for conventions, exhibitions, conferences, weddings, live events & in-house events. This pivotal position encompasses the provision of assistance to the department director in the formulation and implementation of holistic marketing strategies. Additionally, it entails the oversight of brand consistency and standing, financial planning, as well as the facilitation of impactful communication campaigns targeting diverse stakeholders..

-Education:
•    Minimum of Undergraduate Degree (Masters is a bonus) in Communications, Media, Business, social work, or any other relevant
•    areas.
•    At least 8 years of work experience in communications, marketing, or relevant fields

Experience & Skills:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in the similar/equal role. Preferably in hospitality or MICE industry.
Proven track record of effective planning, control and monitoring of budgets; and overseeing and leading multiple functions.
Experience and connections with local and international media.
Experience of partnership working, including negotiating, communicating and joint working with internal/external stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
Experience in the brand management and in the digital space.
Experienced in identifying, integrating, and leveraging different marketing and communication channels to effectively reach out to relevant audiences.
Proven track record of being delivering successful brand initiatives and campaigns.
Passionate brand advocate, creative thinker, and problem solver, who can combine commercial savviness with driving brand love.
Experience with team management and leadership of projects. 

Specific Responsibilities’ Standards
Develop and implement marketing strategies: Responsible for creating comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the OCEC as a premier venue for events. This involves identifying target markets, conducting market research, and developing marketing campaigns to attract event organizers, exhibitors, and gusts.
Brand management: Responsible for developing and maintaining a strong brand image for the OCEC. This includes creating and managing branding guidelines, ensuring consistency across all marketing materials, and monitoring the brand's reputation.
Advertising and promotion: Oversees advertising and promotional activities to increase awareness of the OCEC. This includes managing advertising campaigns, coordinating media relations, utilizing digital marketing channels, and exploring partnerships with industry influencers and media outlets.
Event marketing: The OCEC hosts a variety of events, and the director is responsible for marketing these events to attract exhibitors and OCEC gusts. This involves developing event-specific marketing plans, coordinating with event organizers, and leveraging various marketing channels to maximize event participation.
Public relations: Manages the OCEC's public relations activities, including media relations, press releases, and crisis communication. Working to build positive relationships with media outlets, industry associations, and other stakeholders to enhance the OCEC's reputation and generate positive coverage.
Digital marketing and social media: In today's digital age, the director is responsible for leveraging digital marketing channels effectively. This includes managing the OCEC's website, social media platforms, email marketing campaigns, and online advertising to reach a wider audience and engage with potential clients.
Budget management: Responsible for developing and managing the marketing and communication budget for the OCEC. They must allocate resources effectively, track expenses, and ensure that marketing activities deliver a positive return on investment.
Team management: leads a team of marketing and communication professionals and provides guidance, support, and mentorship. Assigned tasks, monitor performance, and foster a collaborative work environment to achieve the department's goals. 
Stay updated with industry trends: Should stay informed about the latest marketing and communication trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices. And, should continuously seek opportunities for innovation and improvement, ensuring that the OCEC remains competitive in the market.
Measure and report on marketing performance: The director should establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts. Regular reporting on key metrics, such as event bookings, website traffic, lead generation, and customer satisfaction, is essential to evaluate the success of marketing initiatives.
Internal communication: Develop holistic internal communication strategies to cultivate a culture of transparency, collaboration, and engagement, utilizing suitable channels, tools, and methods to connect with employees at all levels. Also, the DMC is responsible for creating and distributing internal communications, including announcements, memos, newsletters, and updates. 
Sponsorship: Develop and implement strategic sponsorship initiatives to drive revenue growth and enhance the overall brand image of the OCEC.
Revenue target & overall performance of the organization: The Director of Marketing & Communication for the OCEC will be responsible for driving revenue targets and overseeing the overall performance of the organization as well as developing strategic marketing and communication plans that align with the organization's objectives, ensuring revenue growth and enhancing the overall performance of the Centre

General Responsibilities’ Standards
Develop effective relationships with OCEC management and staff, the Owner, Government representatives, business associates, clients and third-party consultants through appropriate communication and a positive attitude. 
Identify and resolve cultural and other situations as they arise both internally and externally. 
Provision of input to reports and correspondence as required. 
Participate in training as directed by the department director  
Monitor and mentor department personnel. Conduct regular communication meetings with Marketing & Communication team. 
Identify training needs required in department. 
Other duties as directed by the department director
